Phil Rawlins, team president, told Orlando Business Journal about 75 back-office employees will move from Winter Park to a new approximately 15,000-square-foot space in the GAI Building on Summerlin Avenue and South Street later this year. It’s actually something that had been rumored earlier this year, when my colleague Abe Aboraya reported on XOS Digital Inc. moving out of its space in that building.
Meanwhile, Rawlins talked with OBJ during Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer’s State of the City Address, which was paired with the debut of SunRail’s Church Street Station, one of 12 stops in the $1.3 billion commuter rail’s first phase.
Rawlins said during that event that the team planned to purchase SunCards — reloadable passes — so they can ride to and from work on SunRail, which launches service on May 1.
And here’s another interesting nugget that shows the team’s push for sustainable travel: Rawlins said the new soccer stadium, which also is close to a downtown SunRail station, will have no parking spaces.
